Blue Slide Park Event 2019
Coming into the 412 is a different feeling than going to any city. Never have I been to a city that gets so cold, but puts off such a warmth all over from the mountains, to the people, even if you are not from the city, when you are there being apart of it, you feel a sense of belonging for the time being. My weekend in honor of Mac, entailed attending the Blue Slide Park event on Friday night and then exploring the woods of Frick Park, and taking a tour of Taylor Allderdice during the next morning. I unfortunately missed the awesome performance put on by Dj Clockwork. I had my 16 year old brother with me, so that he could see the great city of Pittsburgh for the first time, and be able to slide down the blue slide of course. The 21 and up put a damper on the Saturday night move because I couldn’t leave my own family behind at the place we were staying. Seeing everyone come out to celebrate and be together as a group to lift everyone’s sprits at a very sad time was amazing. I wanted to take the time to share with anyone who could not make out to the event, or just wanted to see the event from a different point of view! We have some youtube clips put together, and the full speech of Mark McCormick as well. His speech was very well put together, and much respect to the man for giving a strong speech. Thank you for anyone I got to come in contact with at the event that shared your stories with myself, or shared your own personal art. I ran into a very nice gentleman who asked me be in his podcast that he is launching in January that is all about Mac! If anyone that couldn’t make it though I want to leave you with these clips to speech and the event itself with you to enjoy.
